How It All Begins
Master with the Cracked Fingers is a coming-of-age martial arts story about a young man who learns kung fu in secret while working at a grocery shop. Despite its raw style, the film features early glimpses of Jackie’s signature blend of physical comedy and daredevil stuntwork.
You’ll see alleyway ambushes, slapstick-infused training sequences, and early flashes of Jackie Chan’s screen presence in one of his earliest lead roles.

Untold Backstory
Filmed in 1971 under the title Little Tiger of Canton, this was Jackie Chan‘s first starring role. After his breakout success, producers re-edited the film with added footage and released it as Master with Cracked Fingers in 1973, then again in 1979. It remains one of the most repackaged and widely distributed titles in Chan’s early filmography.
